Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement, saying Toronto can expect between 15 and 25 millimetres of rain between Tuesday evening from 9pm until the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The amount of rain isn’t overly high, it’s fairly normal — Environment Canada meteorologist Mark Schuster says we get that multiple times a year — the ground is still frozen, which means it can’t absorb moisture as it normally would.
If you’re in a flood susceptible area, you should be cautious this evening and tonight. The rain will start to move into the GTA at around 9 p.m., although some showers could start in the afternoon. The rainy weather could last into midday Wednesday, with a possibility of lighter showers during the day.
Despite all the rain, Torontonians will have one thing to look forward to, which is a much warmer than normal start to March. A high of 14º for Wednesday! The average for this time of year is 1º!
